This past Sunday a pastor called the children up to go to children’s worship. Before sending them off, he sat them down and talked to them about the Bible’s infallibility and how we can always believe that it is true. The following is part of that talk:
Pastor: “What did Jesus do?”
Children: “He died on a […]

I’m perturbed by how some consider Calvinism to be synonymous with TULIP, yet the same people also consider it to be a worldview. If Calvinism is a world view, then how can it be defined by five points? To me, a genuine Calvinist worldview has an infinite amount of points because it forms a circle that encompasses one’s entire life. […]
A key difference between the Western mind and the Hebrew mind is our perspective of truth over time. According to Ray Vanderlaan, Greeks see truth as static and unchanging while Hebrews see truth as unfolding. In light of this truth, Vanderlaan says:
God said at the beginning of the Bible, a man and a woman will […]
Judgment Illustrated
Published July 24th, 2007 in Eschatology/Judgment, Anime, Theology In... and Conditional Immortality. 4 CommentsThe biblical doctrine of judgment does not stress physical pain and agony as much as it stresses the future of the wicked being cut off. While there is no doubt that pain will be present, pain is not necessarily the primary aspect. Jesus frequently describes the wicked “weeping and gnashing of teeth” after being thrown […]
Battle cries rise as warriors take arms.
As a single body, frontlines draw near.
Marching in such a oneness, it alarms
the fierce foe; they begin trembling in fear.
As they come into range they all take aim,
a volley of words pouring down like rain.
Crippled and tired, the enemy retreats.
Bible’s raised, the victors begin their fete.
“Strive to enter in by the narrow door, for many, I tell you, will seek to enter in, and will not be able.” - Luke 13:24
“Strive” teaches that a man must expect many adversaries and a hard battle, if he would have his soul saved. And this, as a matter of experience, is strictly true. […]
37:21 The wicked borrow, and don’t pay back, but the righteous give generously.
22 For such as are blessed by him shall inherit the land. Those who are cursed by him shall be cut off.
23 A man’s goings are established by Yahweh. He delights in his way.
24 Though he stumble, he shall not fall, for Yahweh […]
An idle coward,
he stood to the side watching
as a snake tempted his bride.
A manly hero,
he was tempted, bruised and killed
to save his bride from her foe.
The kingdom of God is like a full-bodied red wine. To those who only drink on rare occasion, the bitterness of alcohol is all they can taste. But those who enjoy it daily find a refreshing fullness to which no other beverage can compare.
For anyone who hasn’t heard of Ray Vanderlaan or his ministry, Follow the Rabbi, I highly recommend it. The ministry’s philosophy is, if westerners want to think biblically, then we must learn to think Hebrew.
One way for us to know Jesus—and thus God the Father and the Holy Spirit—more intimately, is to carefully assess our 21st-century culture and […]
Psalm 37:7 Rest in Yahweh, and wait patiently for him. Don’t fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who makes wicked plots happen.
8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath. Don’t fret, it leads only to evildoing.
9 For evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for Yahweh shall […]
Psalm 37:1 Don’t fret because of evil-doers, neither be envious against those who work unrighteousness.
2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither like the green herb.
3 Trust in Yahweh, and do good. Dwell in the land, and enjoy safe pasture.
4 Also delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you […]
